SUMMARY:A Harp For The Heart
DESCRIPTION:A perfect Valentine evening of culinary delights with music by elegant harpist Carroll Ownbey awaits you. Entering the lovely Ramble home of Rose and Jon Lawrie\, just before a winter sunset\, you will be greeted with a Vanderbilt Martini\, a glass of wine\, or a refreshing spritzer as you unwind to soft jazz. Be pampered and enjoy hors d’oeuvres\, while sitting by a crackling fire\, followed by a 5-course\, elegant sit-down candlelight dinner of Chicken Marsala or Honey Pecan Crusted Salmon or a vegetarian selection\, prepared “lovingly” by local Kim Linville of Linville Catering Company.  Linville  was the first home catering company in Asheville/Hendersonville. Kim’s grandmother Evelyn Anderson started the company in the early 1940’s.  Entrees are accompanied by five delicious side dishes including soup and salad. \nAfter dinner\, settle into the cozy living room by a fire\, with a hot beverage or liqueur\, along with a strawberry trifle dessert while being entertained by harpist Carroll Ownbey.  Carroll\, who lives in Western North Carolina\, has been playing professionally for over 30 years.  One of her favorite memories was accompanying a group in Carnegie Hall.  Her more famous audiences include Betty White and Elizabeth Dole. Carroll is an original member of the Blue Ridge Harp Ensemble\, which is comprised of four concert harps and other professional harpists. Carroll will be performing famous love songs to warm anyone’s heart. Win a special door prize\, if luck is with you; everyone\, though\, will be gifted a book of poems and sonnets\, chocolate from The Chocolate Fetish\, and a small bouquet of flowers. \nWatch out! You just might be struck by Cupid’s arrow!  Don’t miss this intimate\, heartfelt affair;  truly an evening to remember!

SUMMARY:Bonsai Garden Walk and Talk
DESCRIPTION:This Feast features a spectacular Bonsai Garden tour and talk with Bonsai expert Daniel Coffey. The tour will take place at the beautiful Reynolds Mountain home of Lori and Bob Herlin where Lori has designed the most extensive\, exquisitely nuanced miniature Bonsai garden in Asheville.  Daniel Coffey\, Asheville’s own Bonsai expert\, will give you pointers about the care and propagation of various styles of Bonsai using Lori’s beautiful Bonsai collection. An optional choice but equally fascinating will be to follow a tour along Lori’s “enchanted forest” trail that winds through their back woods. Each segment will host just 10 guests who will rotate through each tour and talk. \nNOTE: This home is accessed by a steep driveway.  The optional walk in the woods is also hilly. Please wear comfortable shoes. \nDirections to the residence will be provided once reservations are complete. \nFor this first Feast of the season in our upside-down world\, we will be accepting donations through the website reservation/checkout process or at the door in lieu of purchasing tickets. The original cost was $65.00 per person.
