By now we hope you have combed through your closets and cabinets and discovered items to donate to the Asheville Symphony Guild Estate Sale on June 3-5.
Types of items to consider for donation
Furniture in good condition, ceramics, tableware, glassware, silver, art, books, working lamps, decorative items, artwork, high-quality new or vintage linens, couture or vintage clothing, jewelry, high-end fishing equipment, vintage tools, electric tools, musical instruments and mirrors.
To help gauge acceptable items, ask yourself this: Would you pay at least $20 for such an item at an estate sale?
As we get closer to this latest fundraiser, which will benefit the Asheville Symphony and our Music in the Schools program, we now have the contact information for the three drop-off locations for donations. Information regarding the pick-up of furniture or large items is noted below.
Drop off locations
- Olivia Zahler (North), firstname.lastname@example.org, April 7 – April 23
- Nan Murphy (South), email@example.com, April 26 – May 11
- Sandy Teach (West), firstname.lastname@example.org, April 26 – May 11
- Linda Brown (East), email@example.com, April 26 – May 11
Your first contact should be made by email to get the address and to agree on a date and time in advance for dropping off your donations. Items should be boxed and labeled “Symphony Guild Estate Sale.”
You will be given a form on which you can list the items donated. We ask that you leave one copy when you drop off your items to assist us with inventory. On your copy, you can note the value of the items for your 2021 taxes if you wish.
For last minute donations only, you can drop off items (clearly marked for the Symphony Guild Estate Sale) at the Bridge Foundation, 75 Fairview Rd., Asheville on May 26 or May 27. Donations for our Estate Sale will be accepted only on those days at the back of the building.
Pick up of furniture and large items
Guild member Sue Luther (firstname.lastname@example.org) will coordinate the pick-up of large items on either May 19 or May 21. Please contact her and let her know what items(s) you will need to be picked up. She will coordinate with the Bridge Foundation team to work out the details and confirm the date and approximate time with you. Please note that, for worker’s compensation insurance purposes, the Bridge Foundation cannot pick up large desks, armoires and entertainment centers, sofa beds and pianos/organs.
For additional information or assistance, please email any of the committee members. We’ll do our best to help.
Thank you in advance for helping us raise money for the Guild’s Music in the Schools program. We look forward to seeing you at the Estate Sale.
