A Momentous Evening of Art and Music

Friday, April 29, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$75.00
  • « ALT ASO Orange Peel
  • Thoreau To Crowe And A Mellow Cello »

Come, let your minds and hearts be enthralled with compelling fine art and live music at the new, expansive Momentum Gallery in downtown Asheville.   Owners Jordan and Shifra Ahlers will personally lead an engaging tour of their gallery.  They will share fascinating back stories of the artists and their artworks, even pulling work from their vault to further delight your probing

interests. The 15,000 sq. ft. gallery features 70-80 artists who work in a variety of mediums, featuring innovative as well as traditional techniques with paint, glass, wood, ceramics, and various multimedia combinations.

After the tour, Asheville musicians Frances Duff, cellist, and Inez Redman, violinist, will captivate you with their lovely performance, filling the gallery with beautiful music as you sit and relax, enjoying a delectable selection of hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine.

Let your spirit be nurtured with a delightful evening of magical art and music.

Frances Duff, cellist and teacher, attended the prestigious Conservatoire de Musique de Quebec in Montreal, studying the cello, and McGill University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music.  After working in Toronto with various symphonic, ballet and opera orchestras, she moved to Iowa, receiving a Master of Music degree from the University of Iowa.  Ms. Duff is the former assistant principal cello in the Asheville Symphony Orchestra and former principal cello in the Hendersonville Symphony. She is currently a cellist in the Temple Trio and a Suzuki cello teacher at AFTA.

Inez Redman, violinist and teacher, earned her Bachelor of Music from Wayne State University and studied with Mischa Mischakoff as a member of  the Detroit Symphony and Chautauqua Symphony. She has played with symphonies in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. She is presently a part-time faculty member at UNC Asheville, teaching violin and viola and is a violinist in the Asheville Symphony.
