President Cliff Albertson called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM.

Welcome by the president.  Cliff introduced William Scarborough, who has been proposed as the new Treasurer.

Update from the Symphony Executive Director:  Daniel Crupi and Alex Hill (Marketing Director) showed us the ASO’s brand refresh with new logos and color schemes for all five affiliates of the Symphony.  The five affiliates are the Symphony Orchestra, Youth Orchestra, Guild, Chorus and the Symphonettes.  The Guild logo is dark teal and light green.

Recording Secretary:  Minutes from the May 15, 2025 meeting were approved. Motion was made by Cliff Albertson, seconded by Clair Griffith.

Membership:  Anne Jarema reported that as of today, 16 new households and 18 new individuals have joined or renewed.  Next week she will send out a second reminder renewal and make phone calls at the end of August.  She is planning a welcome for new members, possibly at a brewery, with White Labs in mind.  Highland and Sierra Nevada were also suggested.

Musical Feast Committee:  Chair Kyle Parks reported that there are 11 feasts on the calendar for this year.  He wants to get sponsors for each one and ask each one if they know anyone who might be interested in sponsoring.  The cost of the feasts range from $50 to $125.

Music in the Schools:  Honey Solomon questioned whether this is still part of the Guild.  It is still funded by the Guild.

Program Committee:  Cliff Albertson revealed that when there is a Musical Feast on the Thursday before the Symphony performance, the Guild meeting will be held the previous week.  A discussion was held regarding the most convenient time for more people to attend the program meetings.  Honey Solomon made a motion to have the meetings take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sharon Sandel seconded. The motion was approved.

Hospitality Committee:  Pam Prosser talked about the meal the Guild sponsors for the Symphony Orchestra members.  It will be on September 19th at 3:00 PM in the First Baptist Church.  Setup will begin at 2:00 p.m. and cleanup at 4:00.  Food will be purchased from Chipotle.  Wine budget for all events is $10 per bottle. Pam is looking for volunteers to help.

Potluck Dinner Committee:  Barbara Hume assured us that everything is in hand.  It will be held at the Weaverville Community Center on September 28th from 4-6:30.   We must register online to attend.

New Business:  William Scarborough was nominated for Treasurer by Pam Prosser and seconded by Clair Griffith and was unanimously passed.

Old Business:  The budget was discussed and will be revisited next month.

Next meeting: August 13 at 10:00 AM in the Symphony boardroom.

Meeting adjourned at 11:30

Respectfully submitted,

Sharon Sandel, Recording Secretary.
