$70.00Come spend an engaging afternoon listening to a serenely beautiful flute serenade by Lissie Shanahan, ASO’s first chair flutist, plus a captivating “how to” on Ikebana floral arranging presented by expert Ikebana designer, Nancy Gettys. Add in sumptuous afternoon tea treats, a glass of bubbly and the sweeping vistas of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains from the mountaintop home of our gracious hosts, Lia and Patrick Reagan. An afternoon sure to delight the senses.

Nancy Gettys has been studying Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging, for about 14 years. She is a Master in the Ichiyo school of Ikebana. Nancy has exhibited at various events and venues in Asheville, such as the Western North Carolina Arboretum, the Southern Highlands Guild Show, B.B. Barnes, Reems Creek Nursery, and Art in Bloom at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts.
Lissie Shanahan has been with the ASO since 2009 and started playing an instrument at nine. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University Jacob School of Music and a Master of Music from The Julliard School.
