Meet in Asheville’s new River Arts Makers Place for lunch and tours of UNC-Asheville’s STEAM Art & Engineering Studio, Ginger’s Revenge, and the new French Broad Chocolate Factory and Sweets Cafe.

The tour begins with UNC-Asheville’s innovative STEAM Studio where the next generation of Scientists, Technicians, Engineers, Artists and Mathematicians work side-by-side with faculty and staff experts experienced in all facets of the creative process. Check out their state-of-the-art equipment, ongoing projects and plans for the future. Ask them about their collaborative project with conceptual artist Mel Chin, an animatronic figurehead created in the STEAM studio and installed in Times Square in September, 2018 for three months.

Next, tour Ginger’s Revenge specializing in producing exciting and creative craft beverages from sustainably sourced ingredients. Sample their ginger beer while enjoying a light lunch in the brewery catered by Sweet Plantain Latin Food Truck.

A sweet finish will be provided by the French Broad Chocolate Factory in their new 14,000 square foot facility where they produce 50 tons of chocolate annually. Join us for a private tour where you will learn about the production of chocolate from ancient ways to today’s contemporary and modern processes and hear how the business began in Costa Rica and ended up in Asheville.
