Musical Feast: Basketball and Barbecue

What could be better than a barbecue dinner with all the trimmings and a special section seat for UNC Asheville Men’s Basketball on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2018.   You’ll dine in a private room at the Sherrill Center and meet Janet R. Cone, Director of Athletics at UNC Asheville.

Janet will speak about UNC Asheville basketball and also about her remarkable career from coaching women’s basketball in 1986 at Mars Hill to, at length, becoming Director of Athletics at UNC Ashville. Janet is one of only four women in the country ever to have served on the prestigious NCAA/Men’s Basketball Committee. She heads a dynamic athletic department having introduced many an innovation and is happy to share her experiences and expertise with us.

The Sherrill Center and Kimmel Arena are wonderful facilities for this Feast of pulled pork with Kaiser rolls, barbecue chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and fruit cobbler. Beer, iced tea and water will also be provided. (In addition, with advance notice, there is an opportunity for a vegetarian option.)

After dinner, you will be escorted to the Musical Feast special section to enjoy the game. As their fans know, UNC Asheville men’s basketball Bulldogs had an outstanding season in 2016-2017. They claimed their sixth Big South conference regular season title and advanced to post season play to the joy of all their fans. This year’s basketball season promises to build on this firm foundation.
