Musical Feast: The Magic Flute, an Encore
Friday, March 1, 2019 @ 6:30 pm
$125.00Return to the Golden Age of Elegance and enjoy an intimate dinner in a wonderfully restored part of downtown Asheville’s past – The Aston. Your hosts Ann and Jon Kemske welcome you to their charming condo and offer drinks and appetizers with lovely music from the “magic” flute of Dilshad Posnock of the Asheville Symphony.
Located in the church district, surrounded by beautiful old trees, the Aston, built in 1928 was intended to be “Asheville’s most grand apartment building” but was never finished quite up to the original intent. Today in this quiet setting, you visit with the fortunate owner of one of the thirteen garden apartments. Their home is filled with lovely and unique art as well as a large collection of local art.
Dinner will be a sumptuous multi-course meal, with wine pairings, prepared and served by your hosts. Ann, classically trained in France as a master chef, and Jon, a creative engineer, have more than fifty years combined experience in the food business and will delight your taste buds and visual senses with their efforts.
The exquisite table setting is artistically gorgeous – the Rosenthal Studio china portraying scenes from Mozart’s “Magic Flute” in gold relief is a collection Ann started when she was a teen-ager.
This lovely venue, the cuisine, the music and the gracious hosts make this a perfect kick-off for this year’s Amadeus Festival!
