What Lives Beneath the Surface
Saturday, June 19, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
$80.00Join us for a delectable sit down seafood dinner and a bucolic learning opportunity on the cozy cottage deck of Melinda Brown in the summer shade of the cool Swannanoa River. First you will observe our local “Jacques Cousteau,” a retired EPA biologist, as he gathers samples of a variety of aquatic life from the Swannanoa River and places them in an aquarium for your viewing. “Jacques” will be joined by an aquatic biologist to discuss the unique characteristics of these elusive aquatic samplings.
While you sip a cool refreshing drink and indulge in a tasty selection of appetizers, you will have a chance to view beautifully magnified photographs of these river’s inhabitants taken while “Jacques” snorkeled in this section of the Swannanoa River.
After this fascinating and illuminating discussion, enjoy a delicious dinner of seafood, salads and a selection of specialty desserts on your host’s riverfront deck and lawn.
